Seth has led the Immortal Guardians for thousands of years. With them fighting by his side, he has protected humans from psychotic vampires, defeated corrupt mercenary armies, defended military bases under attack, and more. But the latest enemy to rise against the Immortal Guardians has proven to be a formidable one, wielding almost as much power as Seth. His goal is simple. He wants to watch the world burn. And he will use every means at his disposal to accomplish it. Seth and his Immortal Guardians have succeeded thus far in staving off Armageddon despite heartbreaking losses. But they have never before faced such danger. Seth has only one wish: to protect his Immortal Guardians family and ensure the continuation of humanity by defeating his foe. But then Leah walks into his life and sparks a new desire.
Leah Somerson has suffered losses of her own. It has taken her a long time to rebuild her life and find some semblance of peace. Then one night a tall, dark, powerful immortal with what appears to be the weight of the world on his shoulders stumbles into her shop, and everything changes. Peace and contentment are no longer enough. Now she wants more. She wants to find happiness. She wants to erase the darkness in Seth’s eyes and replace it with love and laughter. She knows he’s different in ways that make most fear him. Even some of his immortal brethren keep a careful distance. But Leah will not. Nor will she shy away when danger strikes.

Hello! Thank you for joining me. I’m happy to be here at Stormy Vixen’s Book Reviews, celebrating the release of DEATH OF DARKNESS, the latest book in my Immortal Guardians series. If you like powerful immortal males who adore strong, kick-ass women, and lost of action, passion, humor and romance, then I think you’ll enjoy this books. If you’re new to my series, don’t worry. Each book can be read as a stand-alone novel. You’ll just know more about the secondary characters if you read the books in order.
I have loved books for as long as I can remember and have always been a voracious reader. There are over two thousand paperbacks on my keeper shelves. And I’ve lost count of the number of ebooks I have on my devices. So whenever someone asks me to name my top five all-time favorite books, I’m guessing I acquire a deer-in-the-headlights look. Just five? Impossible!! :-)
My top five favorites actually tend to change from time to time, depending on my mood and what’s happening in my life. But here are the ones who most often make the list of…
My Top 5 All-Time Favorite Reads
Stephen King’s ON WRITING. Because I’m a writer, I had to include this one. I am a huge admirer of Stephen King. He is the one author I can always count on to phrase something in each of his books that will make me think, “Wow. No one else would’ve thought to describe that in such a way.” He knows the craft so well. I learn something new every time I read one of his books. And his fiction novels always fire my imagination and make me want to sit down and write for hours. So it didn’t surprise me at all when I loved ON WRITING, too. I enjoyed the tale of his path to publication and could easily relate to it. But I liked even more that he covered aspects of writing that my creative writing professors in college never mentioned. Whenever new writers ask my advice, I’m always quick to recommend this. :-)
Gena Showalter’s THE DARKEST NIGHT. Paranormal romance is one of my favorite genres, so I have read many over the years. This one really stood out. I loved the characters and the storytelling. It was a great introduction to an entertaining series. And I always enjoy indulging in a reread.
Laurann Dohner’s FURY. This totally hooked me on Laurann’s New Species series. I’ve devoured every book in it since… more than once… AND listened to the audiobooks. It’s my go-to series whenever I’m stressing over deadlines. And no matter where I dive back into New Species, I always end up wanting to return to Fury’s story.
Karen Marie Moning’s THE IMMORTAL HIGHLANDER. The books in the Highlander series were among the first time travel romances I ever read. And I really enjoyed them. This one—The Immortal Highlander—was my favorite and one I think of and return to often.
Stephen King’ THE STAND (Uncut). What can I say? Stephen King is a phenomenal writer. I think this was the first horror novel I ever read, and I absolutely loved it. In my opinion, it’s one of his best. I could read it again and again.
So what five books are on your all-time favorites list? :-)
